ISO/TS 22317 Introduction Course

This Introduction to ISO/TS 22317 course considers the fundamental concept of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) as broadly defined by the ISO 22317 Technical Specification. This course is designed for business continuity (BC) coordinators, risk managers, and operational managers. The course explains how to identify 'critical function', understand what impacts would mean to the organisation, and how to prioritise recovery of the identified functions for the organisation.

The course begins by introducing the scope, goals, and benefits of a structured analysis of the BIA. The course also introduces the data collection process, how to engage stakeholders, and how to analyse the data for time-critical activities from a stakeholder perspective, along with dependencies that may be present. Case studies identify what situational awareness and judgments relate to strategy development from the BIA and how BIA is coordinated with the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in alignment with ISO 22301.

In addition, the course explores how the BIA supports decision-making for an organisation's IT disaster recovery, cloud dispersal and/or migration (AWS, Azure), and operational risk planning. The participant is exposed to how the outputs of the BIA can be aligned and integrated in decision-making to accomplish strategic decisions related to additional standards such as ISO 27001 - Information Security, and ISO 22320 - Incident Response.

At the end of the course, the participant feels prepared and able to aid their organisation in establishing and/or implementing effective continuity strategies to reduce downtime and ensure value is achieved in the continuation of the organisation's capability. This course is provided by SSDN Technologies, one of the Best Corporate Training Companies in India, in relation to other offerings including quality as a service, disaster recovery and resilience-based planning in VMware and Citrix, AI-based risk analysis capture and representation, and soft skills that assist continuity, crisis communication, and preparedness.
