Red Hat Performance Tuning: Linux in Physical, Virtual, and Cloud (RH436) Course

Red Hat Performance Tuning: Linux in physical, Virtual, and cloud (RH442) is an advanced-level course designed for experienced system administrators who want to adapt to the performance of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux system in various deployment environments. Participants will learn techniques to evaluate and improve system behaviour under various workloads using open-source benchmarking tools and performance monitoring utilities.

The course includes CPU, memory, disc, and network performance tuning with kernel tuning parameters and I/O scheduler configurations. It also addresses tuning for enterprise-level applications and general server workload, enabling administrators to make informed decisions to meet the performance goals. Students will achieve insight into identifying and solving obstacles in both virtual and cloud environments.

Additionally, the syllabus includes the best practices to take advantage of the performance tests, capacity plan and performance co-pilot (PCP). The real-world landscape and hands-on lab participants help to make the skills necessary for effectively troubleshooting display issues. By the end of the course, the learners will be able to implement strong tuning strategies that improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability in various system environments.
