Red Hat Enterprise Linux Technical Course

This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, establishing an excellent foundation for a student to begin Linux system administration. The course will take a look at the RHEL framework and different components, as well as the rationale for how this OS (operating system) operates in an enterprise setting. There will be a heavy emphasis on learning the command line interface of Linux, so we can perform basic navigation, file management, and directory management. 
 
The course will begin with key administrative tasks, and address how to manage users and groups, installations and installs/updates with YUM and RPM, and the configuration of services for a system. We will learn how to evaluate the health of the system, troubleshoot and rectify common problems, and implement the necessary security controls using file permissions and access management, to maintain a reliable Linux environment.. 
 
In addition to modifying and managing user accounts, we will touch on shell scripting and management of mounted storage devices and how to organise and manage file systems. Upon course completion, you will be able to confidently manage basic user administration and tasks on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms and be prepared to further advance into certifications and responsibilities.
